On Saturday, March 12th, the final event of this year’s Festival of Innovative Technologies (FIT), held under the auspices of the Association for Technical Culture of Slovenia (ZOTKS), was held at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Ljubljana. As part of the festival, competitions are held for primary and secondary schools, this year in more than 10 fields.

The Multimedia Laboratory of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (LMMFE) participates in the festival as a co-organizer of the multimedia competition in the recording and video editing categories. The goal of the competition is to stimulate the creativity and expressiveness of young people in the field of video production, especially by creating their own video materials and editing video products using modern approaches and available equipment. The theme of this year’s optional competition, for which students prepare products independently, was glass, as this year was declared the International Year of Glass by the United Nations.

The contestants selected at the first stage of the competition competed creatively at the national level last Saturday. Elementary and high school students spent Saturday morning in front of cameras and computers and tried to complete the challenge set by the expert committee. The members of the committee then reviewed the submitted products and awarded the best competitors.
